Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team is set to bring significant upgrades for the 2023 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola. Former Formula One champion Jenson Button, speaking about the anticipated upgrade, expressed his excitement and expectations for the team.
Button stated : “They kind of have because they’ve told us that they got a big upgrade coming in Imola. So it’s a big weekend for them. And I think we’re all excited by it.” The prospect of Mercedes making strides with their upgrades is seen as an opportunity for more competitiveness and an exciting shake-up in the grid.
Button further added, “We need people to be jumping up the grid a little bit and fighting the front guys. You know, hopefully, It will put them in a place where they can fight Aston Martin. It’s not going to put them in a place where they’re up against the Red Bull yet. But Aston Martin, Fernando Alonso, they need some fight as well, you know. For him finishing third is great, but he wants a bit of competition out there and he loves the competition with Lewis, doesn’t he?”
